Cut flower cultivation
2021
€ 1.200,00
The roses in this bouquet were grown in Kenya under heated greenhouses with 24-hour lighting to increase the speed of growth and prevent the natural cessation of flowering in winter. To get this bouquet on the table at tea time, 30 litres of water were needed per flower, i.e. 420 litres of water for this bouquet, which dries up the local waterways. And that's not to mention the use of numerous pesticides and fertilisers that destroy the health of those who work there, and destroy the ecosystem of Lake Naivasha. And finally, these roses have flown in to wither in this vase after a few days.
